What instruments do you play? My main instruments are clarinet, piano, and sopranino, descant, treble and bass recorders. I can also play a little bit of acoustic guitar, and have recently been teaching myself the Alto Saxophone {minty}

I play the guitar - I have two electrics (a Squier Strat and an Epiphone Les Paul+), and three acoustics (a cheap Yamaha steel string {which is technically my dad's, but he never plays it}, a cheap plug-in steel string, and a very cheap classical). Incidentally, none of these guitars are fully strung at the moment ... they've all got at least one broken string, and the Epiphone hasn't had ANY strings for about 4 months ('cause I decided I don't like humbuckers much, so I'm gonna sell it and get a proper Fender Strat . I've been playing for about 5-6 years, mostly blues/rock/jazz.

I think I posted this somewhere else, but I'll post it again anyway...
When I began playing keyboard I started with a Yamaha PSR 75 for a few years before switching over to a £300 PSR 530. My school had the latter, which made me decide on getting one, and I have never used another keyboard since. I'm not sure if any of these £1,000 monstrosities can match up to this one, as I have bashed it around through constant travel for the best part of 5 or 6 years and it has yet to break on me!
Although I am thinking of getting another one, I can see my current one lasting for quite some time!
btw I'm back again! I know I have been away for a while as the site went in maintenance mode and I didn't know when it would be lifted. But now it has its great to be back!

Wow, you play alot of instruments. I used to play the piano, and had been doing it for about 6 years. I wish i never gave up, because, imagine how good i would be now - i would have been doing it for 10 years!

I play keyboards - I have spent loads (too much!) of money on eqpt over the years....
We have around 30-35K (insured costs to buy equivalent from new!) worth of gear in the studio - I personally have around 8K worth of keyboards and I am after a Korg Oasys (around 4.5K)
I had nearly 15 years worth of gear in my mums loft! when my Dad died she moved and I had actually forgotten about some of it - I sold quite a bit on Ebay and went on 2 holidays from the proceeds! - cool eh?
I am currently 'abusing' 2 bass guitars - in an effort to learn to play them....
I can also knock out a basic drum beat - we have a kit in the studio and Les the co-owner is a vintage drum enthusiast.....

My next goal would be to learn how to play the drums. Might be fun.

I am mainly a singer songwriter. I play guitar but haveplayed bass and drums in band situations as well. I can figure out chords on a piano and took two saxophone lessons (helped my breathing a great deal that's for sure!)...if I had the time to wake up in the morning and start playing music I'd be flipping amazing! I'm alright Thanks for listening! And thanks for the site!

I am going to attempt to self-teach myself the Bass Guitar. I enjoy the sound it makes, and appriciate it as a background and part of any song or jam. My brother is learning the Acoustic Guitar, I am more towards my own Bass and a bit of Electric Guitar. I am looking at the Squier Bass Pak. Precision Bass I read it was that comes in that pack. I got to get around the one from that pack and mess with it in a very nice local music store. I was even lucky enough to catch a bass player in there who took the one I had and showed me a thing or two. But I would be stupid (right now) to say I can really play the Bass Guitar. But I think I can learn it in several months or a year. I am one to really stick with things.

A while back I started in music on Piano, and later switched to violin, six years ago. So, violin is my main instrument, and the one I'm best at by far. I started flute a few years ago, and dabbled with piccolo from that. This year I started Alto Sax, which lead to playing Bari Sax in jazz band. I tried out for All-County on Bari, 'cause I had the best chance, (so few) even though I'd only been playing a month. I made it! I also just started playing Tenor sax in another jazz band. Last year I made All-County Orch on violin, and was 6th in the county. This year I made it again, but they didn't give us our rankings, all I know is that I'm a 1st violin. And... I made All-State Orchestra on violin as well!!

I just thought I'd give an update. (I posted earlier about All-County/State orchestra for violin.) I ranked 2nd in the county this year and was first-chair first-violin (concertmistress) of the All-State Honors orchestra. Later on I did private teachers federation and recieved four superiors and two excellents, I'm moving on to the State level in May.
